Kürzlich fiel mir folgender Fehler in einem smsbkup.log auf;
"Starting to create the snapshot set.
m_pBackupComponents->StartSnapshotSet(&m_SnapshotSetId) failed. Error code = 0x80.042.316.Error description = VSS_E_SNAPSHOT_SET_IN_PROGRESS.
Error: CreateSnapshotSet failed…
STATMSG: ID=5047 SEV=E LEV=M SOURCE="SMS Server" COMP="SMS_SITE_BACKUP" SYS=xxx SITE=xyz …
SMS site backup failed. Please see previous errors.
SMS site backup service is stopping."
Natürlich ist dann das Backup nicht erfolgreich. Klasse. Das soll so nicht sein. Aber woran liegt’s? Im Eventlog oder andern SCCM-Logs findet sich kein Hinweis.
Die Lösung ist "VSS_E_SNAPSHOT_SET_IN_PROGRESS" und ist hier beschrieben: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa382870(VS.85).aspx: "The creation of a shadow copy is in progress, and only one shadow copy creation operation can be in progress at one time. Either wait to try again or return with a failure error code." Der Übertäter war in diesem Beispiel ein "reguläres" Backup des Server mit einem Drittanbíeterprodukt, welches zeitgleich zu SCCM-Backup lief.
